The TechCampus promotes technological education and research in the four higher education institutions of Turku, i.e. University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, Turku University of Applied Sciences and Novia University of Applied Sciences. At the same time, the campus unites the resources of the higher education institutions to support the product development and innovation activities of the area.
The higher education institutions of Turku produce Doctors and Masters of Science in Technology, Bachelors in Technology, Bachelors of Science and professionals in Navigation to fulfil the increasing future needs in the area. The goal of the TechCampus is to create a strong and wide centre of technical expertise in Turku to promote the competitiveness of Southwestern Finland and the development of companies in the area in the long run.
The main tasks of the TechCampus of the four institutions of higher education in a nutshell are
- combining the technological research and education infrastructures,
- increasing cooperation in technical education,
- creating and maintaining a joint strategy for technological research and
- increasing the attractiveness and cooperation of technology in the area.
The contracting parties of the TechCampus Turku are University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Novia University of Applied Sciences, City of Turku and Turku Science Park Ltd.
